JetBlue Flight Has Close Call with Drone at JFK Airport

A JetBlue flight had a close call with a drone while landing at New York's JFK Airport on Monday. The pilots reported the incident at nearly 3,000 ft, which is a crucial stage in the landing process. The plane landed safely, but an investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the collision.

The pilots said the drone hit the plane right above the cockpit, which is a critical area of the aircraft. The FAA and JetBlue said a post-flight inspection did not find any damage to the plane, but this is not the first time a drone has been spotted near an airport. In fact, a helicopter pilot also reported a close call with a drone while landing at nearby Newark Airport.

The TSA is expecting a lot of people to travel this week, with nearly 19 million people expected to pass through airport security. With this increased traffic, travelers are advised to plan ahead and arrive early at the airport to avoid any delays.
