AI and Brain

People have been making tools for a long time to make hard things easier. A hammer is a tool that helps us build things. But what about artificial intelligence (AI)? AI helps our brain, not our hands. This makes us wonder, what happens to the skills we don't use anymore? Is AI bad for our brain? To find out, we can look at an experiment with 52 junior software engineers. They were split into two groups. One group used AI to code, and the other group did not. The group that used AI finished their tasks a little faster, but not by much. However, when they took a quiz, the group that used AI did not do as well. This is a big difference. The AI group had trouble with debugging, which is finding and fixing problems in the code.

The study shows that using AI can make it harder for us to learn and remember things. But it's not all bad. We can still use AI to help us with things we already know how to do. We just need to be careful not to rely on it too much. We should use AI to automate tasks that we already understand, and then ask questions to learn more. When something goes wrong, we should try to fix it ourselves before asking AI for help. This way, we can learn and remember things better.

In conclusion, AI is a powerful tool that can help us with many things. But we need to use it wisely. We should not rely on it too much, or we might forget how to do things on our own. By using AI in a balanced way, we can sharpen our minds and become better at what we do. So, let's be careful and use AI to help us, not to replace our own abilities. We can use AI to reproduce research papers, train our own models, and run experiments. With the right tools and a little practice, we can become experts in our field.
