Learn English Linking Sounds with George

George talks about places he likes to visit. He shows how English speakers join words together. This is called linking. He also shows a simple way to copy his speech, called shadowing. You can hear his travel guide and repeat after him.

The video teaches three common linking sounds. One is the /w/ sound that connects words like “go and see”. Another is the link between a consonant and a vowel at the end of a word, such as “big apple”. George also shows how a native speaker smooths the words “through” and “though”. You can watch the short tutorial and practice. The channel gives a free download of the script so you can read while you listen. By doing the shadowing exercise, you improve your pronunciation and sound more natural when you talk about your favourite travel spots. You can also see other videos about linking /w/ and about words like “through”, “though”, “thought”. The channel asks you to write your favourite place in the comments using English. This helps you use the new sounds in real sentences.

Try the exercise today. Record yourself and compare. The more you practice, the easier the sounds become.
